Everything Jersey City Festival - Exhibitor Testimonial
I want to congratulate you and your staff and volunteers on the fine job that you did in organizing and hosting the Everything Jersey City festival. We had a great time and learned quite a bit about the community that we did not know before. The City was very clean and bathrooms were strategically placed. I was impressed at how easy and quick it is to get from Jersey City to NYC. The realtor vendor that I spoke with at the festival was very knowledgable and I was impressed that the housing prices were as reasonable as they were. One woman that I spoke with said that Jersey City is a great place to retire due to the activities available and quality of housing. The merchants on Central Avenue were varied and gracious to the customers. The storefronts were very nice and inviting. We ate breakfast and lunch in the resturants and had some of the best food ever. The residents of the town that came to the festival were very polite and engaging and easy to deal with. Not a single person was rude or offensive. The mix of vendors at the festival was the best that we have seen in quite a while. The vendor set up went well. Your communications prior to the festival were clear and concise and very helpful. We find that the varied mix of vendors that you had keeps people coming to events as they can see a lot of varied merchandise rather than a big quantities of all the same stuff. The quality was great and people priced their merchandise so that it was affordable. Parking for this event was convenient and accessible.
I hope that you continue to host this festival as it really showcases your City in a very favorable light. We had a great time and want to come back again. We plan to come up this summer and spend a week or so vacationing in the area now that we have seen all that your City has to offer.

Hi, I was walking on Central Ave. the other day, and I noticed the pretty snowflake lights. I think they are very beautiful and bring a holiday charm to the avenue. I think that these decorations bring in the holiday spirit and will attract more people to the avenue. It would be really nice to see more of such things.

"Central Avenue is such a great place to shop."
This open letter was submitted to the CASID office and addressed to CASID President Michael Yun.
Dear Mr. Yun,
I wanted to tell you a story about a great experience I had at Novick’s Hardware a few weeks ago. I have used the same shopping cart to do my shopping on Central Avenue for many years. Lately, it hasn’t worked as well as it used to, so I went to Novick’s to get a new one. But the manager there, Fabian Miranda, asked to see my old cart first, and he fixed everything that was wrong with it, free of charge! One good deed deserves another, so I made sure to order Fabian and the other workers some pizza to show them how much I appreciated them saving me the cost of buying a new cart.
For seniors on a budget, it is so important to have stores like Novick’s who will treat their customers well instead of taking every opportunity to make money. Like many other seniors I know, I have children who could take me to the mall to do my shopping, but I always prefer to shop on Central Avenue as I have for over 30 years, because there are so many stores that have a heart and are willing to help out seniors like me. Also, I love getting to visit with all my neighbors while I’m running errands – give me the name of one mall where you could do that! I know the next generation of business owners on Central Avenue is just as kind to customers as Novick’s and all the other businesses are to us now, because they are the reason that Central is such a great place to shop.
